5 Things Should Check if your Motorcycle is Not Starting

1. Weak / Dead Battery:

The battery that is safely secured is the lifeline of the entire electrical system. For two-wheeler equipped with just an electric start in which starter motor is totally dependent on the battery. It battery carries sufficient charge then we would be able to crank up the motor that demanding a high voltage from the battery. Basically, a weak battery would not be able to use the electric start. Some signs of weak or dead battery are when you switch on the headlights or push the horn buttons and actually works well or report total failure.

 

2. No Fuel:

When your fuel level goes down, it becomes difficult to judge using the guage and that could be the main reason why your bike is not starting. One of the easiest way to shake your bike gently when on main stand and wait to hear typical telltale slosh of remaining fuel and away from the tank. Alternatively, you could also check by using the flashlight of your mobile phone.

 

3. Clogged Fuel Tank Vent:

There is a very small vent provided on the fuel tank of your motorcycle to supply fuel continously to the intake system. In most of the bikes in India, it is the keyhole of the fuel tank cap. When this vent gets clogged, the tank should stop the supply of fuel to the lower system. You can unclog the vent with a very thin pin or wire along with a pin or thin wire along with forced blow in that hole.

 

4. Clutch is not Engaging Properly:

When you are transmission is in gear and starting your bike, you need to pull the clutch lever properly. Sometimes, the clutch creates a starting problem and does not engage properly. In such condition, you should bring your transmission in neutral.

 

5. Loose Spark Plug Wire:
